Vanessa Beecroft, the guest of exception and heart of FLORENCE SUONO CONTEMPORARY 2017, is called to interpret the city of Florence with two site-specific installations, around which all other appointments of the event will be held. Born in Genoa in 1969, Vanessa Beecroft has for many years been one of the indisputable protagonists of the international scene. Beecroft is universally known for his works where he puts the bodies, especially feminine, "revealing creatures" of the surrounding space, combining in a single scenic dimension the conceptual art, social criticism and theater. Beecroft's interviews with young model-performers, along with the FLAME Ensemble, will be debating in two different evenings, incorporating Julius Eastman's music, with some of the spaces in the city's most important institutions.
