A Guided Tour of the exhibition: For Soprano and Handbag | Stage Version | Installation and Performance Guide
Conception WILLIAM KENTRIDGE, JOANNA DUDLEY
Vocal construction, choreography and performance JOANNA DUDLEY
A performance developed by William Kentridge with Joanna Dudley. It is in part an anti-tour: it is a voice for the works in the exhibition fighting back against interpretation, demanding their right to be provisional and unstable.
South African artist William Kentridge (b.1955, Johannesburg) is renowned for his animated expressionist drawings and films exploring time, the history of colonialism and the aspirations and failures of revolutionary politics.
Joanna Dudley works internationally as a director, performer and singer creating music theatre, choreography and installation.
